At PWG, fabrication isn’t just about cutting metal—it’s about precision engineering. Our state-of-the-art facility utilizes advanced machinery and skilled craftsmanship to transform raw aluminium profiles into high-performance window and door systems.
By managing the fabrication process in-house, we maintain total control over quality, lead times, and customization.
Our Fabrication Process
Every piece that leaves our floor undergoes a rigorous multi-stage journey to ensure it meets the PWG standard of excellence.
1. CNC Precision Cutting We use high-grade CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery to ensure every mitre joint is cut to a fraction of a millimetre. This precision is what makes our frames airtight and structurally sound.
2. Heavy-Duty Corner Crimping Unlike cheap alternatives that rely solely on screws, our frames are hydraulically crimped. This creates a rock-solid, permanent bond at the corners, preventing “frame sag” and ensuring your doors slide smoothly for decades.
3. Integrated Drainage Systems Australian storms can be brutal. Our fabrication process includes precision-milled “weep holes” and drainage channels designed to move water away from your interior quickly and efficiently, even in high-pressure wind zones.
4. Quality Hardware Integration We don’t just “attach” handles and locks; we mill the profiles to house them. This recessed integration provides better security and a cleaner, more minimalist aesthetic.
Material Specifications
We utilize premium architectural-grade aluminium alloys (typically 6063-T5) known for:
- High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Allowing for larger glass spans and slimmer frames.
- Natural Corrosion Resistance: Essential for longevity in Australian coastal and suburban environments.
- Recyclability: Aluminium is a “circular” material that can be recycled infinitely without losing its properties.
Custom Fabrication for Special Projects
Do you have a complex architectural requirement? Our fabrication team thrives on “non-standard” builds:
- Curved & Arched Frames: Expertly shaped for heritage or avant-garde designs.
- Commercial-Grade Sections: For high-rise or high-traffic retail applications requiring extra-heavy wall thickness.
- Thermal Break Technology: Specialized fabrication that inserts a reinforced polyamide bar between the interior and exterior aluminium profiles to eliminate heat transfer.
